A student died after a part of the Ranchi University Central Library building collapsed this morning.
The deceased was identified as Santosh, a resident of Ramgarh. The incident occurred when Santosh routinely parked his bike to enter the library.
“A student was injured when part of the building collapsed. The students rushed him to RIMS where doctors declared him brought dead,” said a student.
The incident enraged the students and they started a demonstration protesting the death due to the negligence of the Ranchi University management. They blocked the roads passing through the university campus and demanded immediate action against the erring officials and proper compensation to the victim.
Lalpur police station officer Mamta Kumari confirmed the incident and said that the students were waiting for some officials of Ranchi University to come for the meeting.
